Installing Thrive Tracker gives this error “Unknown error (ajax)”

When installing thrive, and you get to the page where it creates the database tables, this error may come up.  The reason this happens is if you have your apache timeout set too low and it takes Thrive longer to create the databases, then apache is willing to wait for.

To correct this, you need to increase your timeout setting.  On a cPanel server, you can do this from the WHM here’s how.

1. Log into your WHM
2. Click on Apache Configuration
3. Click on Global Configuration
4. At the bottom of the page  is a setting simply called “Timeout”  Increase this number.  We’ve had success with the apache default of 300 seconds, though you probably don’t need to go quite this high.
5. Click Save
6. Click on Rebuild Configuration and Restart Apache

Once it’s completed, you should now have no problems with completing the thrive install.
